FAQ

How is the due date calculated?

The tool adds the number of days in your payment terms to the invoice date. Net 30 on an invoice dated 1 March means the due date is 31 March. Weekends and public holidays are not skipped, so check whether your agreement says otherwise.

Does 'Net 30' start on the invoice date or the delivery date?

Usually it starts on the invoice date, but contracts can define it differently, for example from receipt of the invoice or acceptance of the work. If your contract says so, enter that date instead of the invoice date.

When should I send the first reminder?

Many freelancers and small businesses wait a few days after the due date, since a payment may be on its way or caught in a bank processing delay. This planner suggests a friendly nudge 3 days after the due date. Choose what fits your relationship with the customer.

Why are the reminders spaced 3, 10 and 17 days after the due date?

It is a simple, courteous rhythm: a light nudge, a clear reminder, then a firm final notice, each with enough time for the customer to respond. It is a suggestion, not a legal rule, so you can adapt the timing.

Can I add late fees or interest with this tool?

No. This tool only plans dates. Whether you can charge late fees or interest depends on your contract and local law, so check your terms or ask an accountant or legal professional before adding charges.

What if the due date falls on a weekend?

The tool still shows the calendar date and adds a note. Payments sent on a weekend usually arrive on the next business day, so consider waiting until then before treating the invoice as late.
